Description
A flaw was found in the ocfs2 component of the Linux kernel. This vulnerability occurs during the conversion of a file from an inline inode format to a normal inode format. Due to an oversight, data beyond the file's logical size (i_size) was not properly zeroed on disk. A subsequent change in the kernel's writeback mechanism exacerbated this, leading to a state where data written to these pages could be lost upon page reclamation. A local attacker could exploit this to cause data corruption.
