Description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/i915/gem: add missing boundary check in vm_access

A missing bounds check in vm_access() can lead to an out-of-bounds read or write in the adjacent memory area, since the len attribute is not validated before the memcpy later in the function, potentially hitting:

Statement

Red Hat Enterprise Linux is not affected by this vulnerability because the flawed bounds check within the Intel graphics driver was introduced in upstream kernel releases that were not incorporated into supported Red Hat products. On vulnerable systems, this issue presents a local privilege escalation or denial-of-service risk, requiring an attacker to have local execution privileges and access to the relevant GPU device nodes to trigger the out-of-bounds memory operation. Default enterprise server deployments without Intel graphics hardware or where unprivileged users lack direct access to render nodes are fundamentally unexposed to this condition.
