Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/etnaviv: check for reaped mapping in etnaviv_iommu_unmap_gem
When the mapping is already reaped the unmap must be a no-op, as we would otherwise try to remove the mapping twice, corrupting the involved data structures.
Statement
This flaw in the Linux kernel's Direct Rendering Manager (DRM) Etnaviv driver presents minimal risk to enterprise systems because it targets specialized Vivante GPU hardware not typically deployed in enterprise environments. An authenticated local user with access to the graphics subsystem could trigger improper memory unmapping, resulting in kernel data structure corruption and a denial of service. Red Hat Enterprise Linux default installations do not actively utilize or load this driver under standard operating configurations.
Mitigation
No mitigation is specified in collected source.
