Description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

powerpc/xive: Fix refcount leak in xive_spapr_init

of_find_compatible_node() returns a node pointer with refcount incremented, we should use of_node_put() on it when done. Add missing of_node_put() to avoid refcount leak.

Statement

This vulnerability is rated as a Moderate impact because it is restricted to systems running on IBM Power architectures under the sPAPR virtualization environment, substantially limiting exposure. Enterprise deployments on standard architectures such as x86_64, aarch64, or s390x are completely unaffected. The defect involves an unreleased device tree node reference during early interrupt controller initialization, posing minimal risk to system availability with no mechanism for privilege escalation or arbitrary code execution.
