Description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

crypto: hisilicon/hpre - fix resource leak in remove process

In hpre_remove(), when the disable operation of qm sriov failed, the following logic should continue to be executed to release the remaining resources that have been allocated, instead of returning directly, otherwise there will be resource leakage.

Statement

This flaw presents negligible security risk to Red Hat environments because Red Hat Enterprise Linux kernels do not ship the vulnerable implementation. The issue is restricted to the HiSilicon HPRE accelerator driver when errors occur while disabling SR-IOV during device removal. Furthermore, triggering the condition requires specialized hardware and local administrative privileges to initiate driver unbinding.

Mitigation

No mitigation is specified in collected source.
