Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IEEE 802.15.4 networking subsystem. A local user can trigger a kernel warning (WARN) by sending a zero-sized packet via raw_sendmsg() on a PF_IEEE802154 socket. This causes skb_assert_len() to fire when the zero-length packet reaches __dev_queue_xmit().
Statement
This issue results in a kernel warning rather than a crash or exploitable condition. The warning is triggered by sending a zero-sized packet on an IEEE 802.15.4 raw socket, which requires local access and CAP_NET_RAW capability. The impact is limited to log noise and potential performance degradation from repeated warnings.
