Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
arm64: dts: qcom: sc7280: Mark PCIe controller as cache coherent
If the controller is not marked as cache coherent, then kernel will try to ensure coherency during dma-ops and that may cause data corruption. So, mark the PCIe node as dma-coherent as the devices on PCIe bus are cache coherent.
Statement
This vulnerability does not impact Red Hat Enterprise Linux or other Red Hat offerings because the affected Qualcomm SC7280 device tree definitions are not supported or present in Red Hat kernels. The underlying issue is restricted to specific ARM64 hardware utilizing this system-on-chip, where improper bus coherency configuration could trigger data corruption during direct memory access routines. Standard Red Hat enterprise environments do not include this hardware support and are not exposed.
Mitigation
No mitigation is specified in collected source.
