Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: dsa: Removed unneeded of_node_put in felix_parse_ports_node
Remove unnecessary of_node_put from the continue path to prevent child node from being released twice, which could avoid resource leak or other unexpected issues.
Statement
This issue poses no direct security risk to Red Hat environments because the vulnerable code within the Felix Distributed Switch Architecture driver is not present in supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux kernels. The upstream flaw involves improper reference counting when parsing device tree port nodes, leading to an extraneous node release. Because the defect was introduced in upstream kernel versions never incorporated into Red Hat enterprise distributions, supported products are unaffected.
Mitigation
No mitigation is specified in collected source.
