Description
A flaw was found in the ntfs3 filesystem driver of the Linux kernel. This issue arises from inconsistent handling of internal flags (is_root and NI_FLAG_DIR) during the ntfs_read_mft operation. This inconsistency can lead to a memory leak, where allocated memory is not properly freed. A local attacker could potentially exploit this to cause a denial of service by exhausting system memory.
