Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's NTFS file system driver. When processing extended attributes (metadata associated with files), the ntfs_read_ea function does not correctly handle inconsistent data. This can lead to a use-after-free error, where the system attempts to access memory that has already been released. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a system crash (denial of service) or potentially gain elevated privileges.
