The Linux kernel CVE team has assigned CVE-2024-35817 to this issue.

Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Low impact because exploitation requires local access on systems equipped with AMD GPU hardware, and the uncleaned GART page table mappings primarily cause driver instability or a denial of service rather than privilege escalation. Standard Red Hat Enterprise Linux server deployments typically run headlessly or on virtualized infrastructure without physical AMD GPUs, significantly limiting exposure. Systems operating without AMD graphics adapters do not load the affected driver and remain unaffected.
