Description

A vulnerability was found in the netfs_perform_write() function in the Linux Kernel, where a race condition can lead to kernel panics or improper writeback handling. This issue occurs if certain synchronous flags (O_SYNC, RWF_SYNC) are used or the file is in write-through mode, and the write position is at or beyond the EOF. In these situations, the code skips the flush and wait, which can lead to problems if a write is already in progress. This can lead to data corruption or system instability.
