The Linux kernel CVE team has assigned CVE-2024-36006 to this issue.
Upstream advisory: https://lore.kernel.org/linux-cve-announce/2024052025-CVE-2024-36006-c032@gregkh/T
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Low severity for Red Hat Enterprise Linux because it requires specialized Mellanox Spectrum switch hardware to be physically present and actively utilized by the system. The issue is confined to access control list (ACL) TCAM table rehash operations handled by the Mellanox switch driver, where unexpected empty list handling triggers a kernel warning. Standard enterprise deployments without Mellanox Spectrum switching silicon are not exposed to this flaw, and even when present, exploitation only impacts availability by inducing a kernel warning without compromising confidentiality or integrity.
