Description
A vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel's DMA engine component in the irq_process_work_list() function. A possible use-after-free condition can occur during list iteration, which is because a descriptor may be freed while another thread is reusing it, potentially leading to access to freed memory.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as a Moderate severity because, although it allows use-after-free during list processing with a low attack complexity and local access, exploitation remains limited to localized impact. The risk of descriptor reuse could affect stability but does not broadly compromise system security.
CVSS score applicability
The CVSS score(s) listed for this vulnerability do not reflect the associated product's status, and are included for informational purposes to better understand the severity of this vulnerability.
Mitigation
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability.
