Description
A use-after-free flaw was found in the Linux kernel's mac80211-based wireless driver when firmware loading fails. This issue could allow a local user to crash the system as result of driver failure on an error path during power on.
Statement
The failure can only happen during boot (power on of specific hardware) and as result of failure for this hardware (on error path). As a result, the security impact is limited, for example, only for cases when a local user has full access to this hardware.
CVSS score applicability
