CVE-2024-49962

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) Component Architecture (ACPICA). A missing check for a null return value from a memory allocation function (ACPI_ALLOCATE_ZEROED()) in the acpi_db_convert_to_package() function can lead to a null pointer dereference. This vulnerability could allow a local attacker to cause a system crash, resulting in a denial of service.
