Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's fork operation. When the system is under extreme memory pressure, an incomplete memory management (mm) state during a fork operation could lead to the khugepaged and KSM (Kernel Samepage Merging) hooks being invoked prematurely. This improper invocation can result in the system failing to register the mm with these memory optimization features, potentially leading to a Denial of Service (DoS) under specific, dire memory conditions.
