Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fs/ntfs3: Mark inode as bad as soon as error detected in mi_enum_attr()
Extended the mi_enum_attr() function interface with an additional
parameter, struct ntfs_inode *ni, to allow marking the inode
as bad as soon as an error is detected.
Statement
Red Hat Enterprise Linux is not affected by this vulnerability because the ntfs3 file system driver is not enabled in supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux kernels. This flaw involves improper error handling during attribute enumeration on NTFS volumes, which could lead to denial of service or unexpected behavior on systems supporting this file system. Because the affected driver is not included in Red Hat supported kernels, the vulnerable code paths cannot be reached.
Mitigation
No mitigation is specified in collected source.
