Description
A flaw was found in the linux kernel. A race between cancel_hw_scan and hw_scan completion may lead to compromised availability.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Moderate impact for Red Hat Enterprise Linux because exploiting this race condition requires local access or wireless network interaction on physical hardware utilizing the Realtek rtw89 Wi-Fi chipset, with the primary consequence being a kernel crash resulting in denial of service. Typical enterprise server environments do not deploy or activate wireless network interfaces, significantly limiting real-world exposure across standard Red Hat deployments. Systems without the relevant wireless network card or where the driver module remains unloaded are not susceptible to this flaw.
