Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Moderate because exploitation is limited to local users with access to generic netlink interfaces, and the resulting impact is confined to a denial of service without privilege escalation. In Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, network teaming is an optional feature that is inactive unless team network interfaces have been explicitly configured. An attacker who supplies non-NUL-terminated configuration strings can cause an uninitialized memory read in the kernel driver, causing the system to crash. Systems without active network teaming configurations are not exposed to this flaw during standard operations.
