Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Userspace Block Device (ublk) driver. A local user with access to the driver can trigger a use-after-free condition—where memory is accessed after being freed—when a request queue is frozen during command cancellation. This issue could allow an attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) by crashing the system or potentially escalate privileges.
Statement
Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora not affected (all versions). For triggering the bug user needs to have access to the kind of ioctl requests for the ublk driver.
