Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
f2fs: fix to bail out in get_new_segment()

get_new_segment() detects inconsistent status in between free_segmap and free_secmap, let's record such error into super block, and bail out get_new_segment() instead of continue using the segment.
Statement
This vulnerability does not affect Red Hat Enterprise Linux or other Red Hat products because the Flash-Friendly File System (F2FS) is neither enabled nor shipped in supported kernels. The flaw stems from inconsistent segment tracking during allocation within upstream F2FS, potentially leading to kernel warnings and system instability under specific file system write operations. Because the affected driver code is absent from Red Hat kernel builds, Red Hat deployments are not exposed.
Mitigation
No mitigation is specified in collected source.
