Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/hisilicon/hibmc: fix irq_request()'s irq name variable is local
The local variable is passed in request_irq (), and there will be use after free problem, which will make request_irq failed. Using the global irq name instead of it to fix.
Statement
This vulnerability does not affect supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases as the susceptible code path was never incorporated into shipped enterprise kernels. The underlying issue stems from improper lifetime handling of interrupt identifier strings in the HiSilicon hibmc display driver, which could cause driver initialization failures or memory corruption on systems utilizing this specific graphics hardware. Because the change that introduced this flaw exists only in recent upstream kernel branches, Red Hat environments remain unimpacted.
