Statement
A moderate severity denial of service vulnerability was found in the InnoDB component of MySQL. An easily exploitable flaw allows a high privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server; successful attacks can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete denial of service) of MySQL Server, affecting availability only, with no impact to confidentiality or integrity. The Red Hat severity (CVSS 3.1 base score 4.9, AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H, MODERATE) matches the upstream Oracle assessment. The mysql and mysql8.4 components in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, 9, and 10 are affected, and the flaw is also tracked for Red Hat In-Vehicle OS and Fedora. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Extended Lifecycle Support is not affected because the vulnerable code is not present in that stream. This flaw is handled through the delegated resolution process, with fixes for affected Red Hat product streams being pursued via the upstream MySQL maintenance updates.
