Description

A resource leak and potential use-after-free was found in the Intel ice network driver in the Linux kernel. When PTP initialization fails or during reset errors, PTP resources are not properly cleaned up. This leaves dangling pointers in the ice_adapter port list, triggering warnings when the adapter is freed.

Statement

Intel E810 and similar Ethernet adapters with PTP support are affected. The issue manifests during error handling in driver probe, reset, or NVM update operations. Clean shutdown paths are not affected.
