Description

A crash vulnerability was found in the CephFS client in the Linux kernel. When using the msgr2 protocol in secure mode with fscrypt-encrypted directories, process_v2_sparse_read() can trigger a kernel crash during file read operations after an encrypt/lock/unlock cycle.

Statement

This affects CephFS deployments using both msgr2 secure mode and fscrypt encryption together. Standard CephFS mounts without encryption or using msgr1 are not impacted.
