Description
A flaw was found in the MySQL InnoDB component. A local, highly privileged attacker with access to the underlying infrastructure, requiring interaction from another user, can exploit this vulnerability to cause a hang or repeatable crash. Successful exploitation results in a Denial of Service (DoS) of the database service.
Statement
This vulnerability is evaluated with a Moderate impact for Red Hat products because an attacker must already have local logon privileges on the host system and social engineering or human interaction is required to trigger the failure. Under standard database deployments, the flaw solely affects availability by terminating or hanging the daemon, with no compromise of data confidentiality or integrity. Consequently, the severe prerequisites and localized blast radius prevent direct remote exploitation across typical environments.
CVSS score applicability
The CVSS score(s) listed for this vulnerability do not reflect the associated product's status, and are included for informational purposes to better understand the severity of this vulnerability.
