Description
A flaw was found in the InnoDB component of MySQL. This issue may allow an attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and/or availability of MySQL Server depending on the vulnerability details. Refer to the Oracle CPU advisory for component-specific impact.
Statement
Red Hat has evaluated this issue as having a security impact of Moderate because exploitation demands both elevated administrative privileges and highly complex attack conditions to trigger a denial of service. A successful exploit can cause the MySQL database instance to hang or crash repeatedly, but it does not allow unauthorized access to sensitive data or modifications to database records. Typical Red Hat enterprise deployments isolate database management interfaces and grant administrative permissions only to trusted personnel, significantly reducing exposure to this flaw.
