Description
A flaw was found in mysql. A remote attacker with high privileges and network access can exploit this vulnerability to cause a Denial of Service (DoS). By targeting the server component services, the attacker can cause the database to hang or crash repeatedly, disrupting availability for legitimate users.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Moderate severity because successful exploitation requires an attacker to already possess high-level administrative credentials on the MySQL server. While a compromised or malicious privileged account can trigger a service hang or crash leading to a complete denial of service, the requirement for elevated permissions significantly restricts exposure in standard deployments. Furthermore, the issue only affects service availability and does not compromise data confidentiality or system integrity.
