Description
A flaw was found in the MySQL replication component. A high-privileged remote attacker with network access can exploit this vulnerability to trigger a hang or repeatable crash. Successful exploitation results in a complete Denial of Service (DoS) of the database service.
Statement
Red Hat rates this vulnerability as Moderate because exploitation requires high privileges, significantly limiting the exposure of database instances. Although an attacker with administrative network access can force the server into an unresponsive state or cause service termination, the flaw does not compromise data confidentiality or system integrity. Standard deployments that restrict administrative credentials and isolate replication interfaces further reduce the operational risk.
