Description
A flaw was found in the MySQL Clone Plugin. An authenticated remote attacker with high privileges can exploit this vulnerability over network protocols to trigger an abnormal condition. A successful attack allows the attacker to cause the database server to hang or repeatedly crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as having Moderate impact because successful exploitation requires high-privilege database credentials and strictly leads to denial of service through an instance hang or crash, without compromising data confidentiality or system integrity. In standard Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, the MySQL Clone Plugin is an optional component that is neither loaded nor enabled by default. Deployments where administrators have not explicitly activated this optional plugin remain unaffected.
