Description
A flaw was found in the RAPID component of MySQL. A remote attacker with high privileges and network access can exploit this vulnerability to cause the server to hang or repeatedly crash. Successful exploitation results in a complete Denial of Service (DoS) of affected database services.
Statement
This vulnerability is evaluated as having a Moderate impact because exploiting it requires an attacker to possess high privileges and overcome high attack complexity to trigger a denial of service, without threatening data confidentiality or system integrity. Under default enterprise deployments, Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases are not vulnerable as they do not include the affected database versions or the proprietary RAPID query processing component. Where affected server deployments exist, exploitation is constrained to disrupting database availability through induced server hangs or crashes.
CVSS score applicability
The CVSS score(s) listed for this vulnerability do not reflect the associated product's status, and are included for informational purposes to better understand the severity of this vulnerability.
