Description
A flaw was found in Highcharts Grid Pro. Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) can occur when an attacker who controls table column configurations injects malicious event-handler attributes into rendered input elements. When a user interacts with or edits an affected cell, the injected script executes in their browser within the context of the hosting application. This can allow an attacker to perform unauthorized actions or compromise sensitive session data.
Statement
Red Hat rates this vulnerability as having a Moderate severity impact because exploitation requires the ability to provide untrusted column configurations and depends on user interaction to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the victim's browser. The issue is restricted to the client-side web presentation layer, preventing direct compromise of the underlying operating system or server infrastructure. Consequently, the blast radius is confined to the application origin and session of the viewing user.
CVSS score applicability
The CVSS score(s) listed for this vulnerability do not reflect the associated product's status, and are included for informational purposes to better understand the severity of this vulnerability.
Mitigation
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.
