Description
A flaw was found in chi. An unauthenticated remote attacker can access sensitive information by bypassing authentication controls when the SuppressNotFound middleware is used. Due to improper handling of routing context, requests to a mounted path can be dispatched against outer routes while retaining route parameters and skipping authentication middleware. This vulnerability allows unauthorized attackers to retrieve restricted tenant-scoped data.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated with a Low impact because triggering the flaw requires an unusual router topology that combines the SuppressNotFound middleware with overlapping sub-router and top-level URL paths. In typical Red Hat deployments incorporating this library, services do not implement this specific routing pattern or rely on tainted route parameters across handler boundaries. Consequently, the practical risk to supported Red Hat offerings remains minimal under standard configurations.
