Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's pstore ram_core component. A local attacker could exploit a vulnerability where the persistent_ram_buffer_map() function incorrectly returns success even when the underlying vmap() memory mapping operation fails. This occurs if a non-zero offset is used, leading to attempts to access an invalid memory address. Successful exploitation of this flaw would result in a system crash, causing a Denial of Service (DoS).
Statement
Red Hat acknowledges the upstream Linux kernel correction for «pstore» as described in COMMENT_ZERO. Fixes are delivered through standard kernel errata for supported products. Operational exposure depends on whether this subsystem or driver is active in your configuration.
