Description
A flaw was found in the drm/buddy component of the Linux kernel. This vulnerability occurs when the system processes memory allocation requests, particularly for contiguous or large non-contiguous blocks. Incorrect rounding of the requested size can lead to an allocation exceeding available memory, which triggers a BUG_ON condition. A local user could exploit this by providing malformed input, resulting in a system crash and a Denial of Service (DoS).
Statement
Red Hat acknowledges the upstream Linux kernel correction for «drm/buddy» as described in COMMENT_ZERO. Fixes are delivered through standard kernel errata for supported products. Operational exposure depends on whether this subsystem or driver is active in your configuration.
