Description

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture) PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) subsystem. A local attacker could exploit a use-after-free vulnerability by triggering a race condition when closing a linked audio stream. This could lead to system instability, denial of service, or potentially privilege escalation by allowing access to freed memory.

Statement

Red Hat acknowledges the upstream Linux kernel correction for «ALSA» as described in COMMENT_ZERO. Fixes are delivered through standard kernel errata for supported products. Operational exposure depends on whether this subsystem or driver is active in your configuration.
