Description
A flaw was found in the NVIDIA Virtual GPU (vGPU) Manager for Linux. A local user with basic privileges can exploit an incorrect transfer of resources across isolation spheres. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code, escalate privileges, cause a denial of service (DoS), or access and alter sensitive data.
Statement
Red Hat Product Security rates this vulnerability as Important due to the high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability, where a local unprivileged actor can break isolation boundaries to gain elevated privileges or disrupt host operations. The vulnerable NVIDIA Virtual GPU Manager component is proprietary software distributed independently by NVIDIA and is not included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Consequently, supported Red Hat driver packages do not contain the affected functionality.
