Description
A flaw was found in the NVIDIA GPU Display Driver. A local user can trigger a use-after-free condition in the kernel mode driver, where the system accesses memory after it has already been released. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution, privilege escalation, unauthorized data tampering, information disclosure, or a denial of service (DoS).
Statement
Red Hat rates this vulnerability as Moderate because exploitation requires local system access with high attack complexity to trigger the flaw. This flaw specifically resides in the NVIDIA kernel-mode display driver for the Windows operating system and does not exist in Linux driver packages. Consequently, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and other Red Hat products are not affected by this vulnerability.
