Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Intel IOMMU driver. This issue occurs because the driver attempts to disable I/O Page Fault (IOPF) handling for devices that never had it enabled, specifically when Shared Virtual Addressing (SVA) is used on hardware that does not support the PCI Page Request Interface (PRI). This imbalance in the bind and unbind paths can lead to a kernel WARNING message, indicating an unexpected state within the system.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as having a Low impact because triggering it merely results in a non-fatal kernel warning log message rather than a kernel panic, privilege escalation, or data loss. In Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, triggering the condition requires local access and execution of specific driver workflows that release Shared Virtual Addressing resources on systems with specialized hardware configurations lacking Page Request Interface support. System availability and operational integrity remain intact despite the diagnostic trace emitted to the kernel logs.
