Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's sched_ext component. When a task is moved to a local dispatch queue (DSQ), the run queue (rq) tracking mechanism may not correctly follow lock switches. This inconsistency can lead to a kernel assertion failure, potentially causing system instability or a denial of service (DoS).
Statement
Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat In-Vehicle OS are not affected by this flaw because the vulnerable BPF extensible scheduler functionality is not implemented in supported kernel releases. As the underlying code is not present, Red Hat environments are not exposed to the associated kernel assertion failures or potential denial of service risks.
Mitigation
No mitigation is specified in collected source.
