Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel, specifically within the drm/amdgpu/sdma7.1 component. This vulnerability occurs when a BUG_ON() macro is triggered, which can lead to an immediate kernel crash. An attacker could potentially exploit this to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) on the affected system.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as having a Low severity impact because triggering the condition requires local unprivileged access on systems with specific AMD graphics processing units. Standard Red Hat Enterprise Linux server installations running headless or on hardware without AMD graphics controllers are unaffected by this flaw. Furthermore, an exploit only results in a system crash without compromising confidentiality or integrity, restricting the blast radius solely to local availability.
