Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) module, specifically within its Multicast Database (MDB) functionality. When an operation to replace the source list of an MDB remote entry fails, the system incorrectly deletes existing sources. This can lead to a situation where network traffic that should be blocked is instead forwarded, or traffic that should be forwarded is dropped, impacting network integrity and potentially causing a denial of service.
Statement
This issue affects VXLAN multicast database (MDB) configuration. Failed source-list replace operations can leave sources incorrectly marked for deletion, corrupting the MDB. Requires local privileges to configure VXLAN.
