Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's mac802154 component, which handles wireless communication. A local attacker with network administration privileges could exploit a timing vulnerability. By rapidly initiating and terminating network interface operations, the attacker could trigger a use-after-free error. This memory corruption could lead to system instability and a denial of service.
Statement
This issue affects IEEE 802.15.4 (mac802154) interfaces. The scan worker dereferences interface data after RCU read unlock without holding an interface reference. Systems not using 802.15.4 are not affected.
