Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's X.25 networking component. This vulnerability, a use-after-free, occurs in the x25_kill_by_neigh() function when a network socket is prematurely released while still being referenced. A local attacker could exploit this to cause system instability, leading to a denial of service, or potentially achieve arbitrary code execution.
Statement
This issue affects X.25 networking. x25_kill_by_neigh() can dereference sockets after dropping the list lock without pinning socket lifetime. Systems not using X.25 are not affected.
