Description

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel, specifically within the LoongArch architecture. When memory allocation profiling is enabled and then subsequently disabled via a boot parameter, an incorrect order of initialization for jump_label_init() and parse_early_param() can occur. This can lead to early parameter handlers modifying uninitialized static keys, causing the kernel to fail to boot. This results in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the affected system.

Statement

This vulnerability is rated as Moderate severity because it requires specific boot-time configuration options on an architecture-specific build, resulting exclusively in a boot failure denial of service without compromising confidentiality or integrity. Red Hat Enterprise Linux does not support or ship kernels for the LoongArch architecture, leaving supported enterprise environments unaffected by this issue. Furthermore, standard Red Hat kernel builds do not enable the memory allocation profiling configurations necessary to expose this condition.

Mitigation

No mitigation is specified in collected source.
