Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's drm/amdgpu/sdma5.0 component. This issue occurs when certain conditions trigger a BUG_ON() macro, which is designed to halt system execution upon detecting a critical error. A local attacker could exploit this to cause a kernel crash, leading to a denial of service (DoS) by making the system unavailable.
Statement
This issue affects AMDGPU SDMA 5.0. Certain error paths used BUG_ON(), forcing kernel panic. A local user exercising those GPU paths could trigger denial of service. Systems without AMD GPUs are not affected.
