Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's drm/amdgpu/sdma6.0 component. This vulnerability could lead to a kernel crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). The issue stems from the use of the BUG_ON() macro, which, when triggered, causes the system to halt unexpectedly.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as having a Low impact because exploitation is constrained to local users and depends on the presence of specific AMD graphics hardware. Typical Red Hat Enterprise Linux server installations operate in headless environments where AMD display drivers are not engaged, substantially limiting exposure. When triggered, the issue solely causes an unexpected kernel panic that interrupts availability, without enabling privilege escalation or information disclosure.
