Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's drm/sysfb component. This flaw occurs when calculating the visible size of the system framebuffer. The calculation uses 32-bit arithmetic, which can overflow if the values for height and stride are excessively large. This overflow leads to truncation of the result, potentially causing incorrect size calculations that could result in system instability or a denial of service (DoS).
Statement
This issue affects system framebuffer (drm/sysfb). Visible size calculation can truncate on 32-bit overflow with large height/stride. Systems using drm/sysfb with very large framebuffers.
