Description
A flaw was found in the drm/amd/display component of the Linux kernel. A deadlock can occur during system suspend and resume operations when video is actively playing. This issue arises due to conflicting locking mechanisms within the display driver, where a function attempting to disable a component waits for delayed work that itself tries to acquire the same lock. This can lead to a system hang, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the affected system.
Statement
This issue affects AMDGPU display ISM during suspend. amdgpu_dm_ism_disable() holds dc_lock while waiting for delayed work, deadlocking suspend. Systems without AMD GPUs are not affected.
